Easy Team Building

Improving the performance and efficiency of a workforce can be achieved through easy team building. This is where the provider and the company seeking to build its team to become a more efficient entity work together. They go with the flow, so to speak, rather than go against the grain.

When team building takes a natural course the results can be so much better all round. A pre-activities assessment of the team can establish what is required. It can also establish the best type of team activity to use.

Throughout the entire duration of the away day or weekend there should be constant feedback reports to make sure that the basic plan is being adhered to, and more importantly, to ensure that it is in fact the best plan to continue with.

It is important to be aware of what a team is and what a team is not. A group of workers of a company may be a team, or they may not be, depending on the work they do. If a company lumps all its employees together and sends them off on an away day with the hopes of building a team it is likely that they will be disappointed, unless their entire workforce actually is a team.

If members of the accounts department are mixed with members of the manufacturing and production department, as well as some from the company canteen, to give an extreme example, they do not comprise a team. It can be seen that they all do very different jobs that don't directly relate to each other. Easy team building in this example can be better achieved by splitting them into their three obvious groups.

Unfortunately, however, some providers of team building will not bother to assist a company who clearly does not understand the nature of how a team should be built. They will accept a highly varied bunch of people and put them through a bunch of games and activities. The outcome may be fun for those concerned, but the company will probably not have the team it desires.

Easy team building requires the company to evaluate whether or not the people they send out on an away day actually do comprise a team. If they have what are effectively several teams within their organisation, then they need several different and distinct days dedicated to building their different teams.

The more a company can do to get the business of team building right, the better success they will have with the entire process. This should come about as a close liaison with the provider of the exercise. It should not be left entirely up to the provider. They have to know certain things beforehand that usually only the company themselves can provide.

Easy team building does get results. It takes the quickest and easiest route, working with the team to gain better efficiency. Team members who already know each other and who already work together can gain surprisingly deep insights into how other team members work and think. The workers benefit from the experience and so does the company.
